A story we hear all the time
"I was making a left turn when the crash happened." "Even the police said it was my fault." In our Las Vegas car accident consultations, we hear this constantly — and many people simply give up, assuming the case is settled because they were to blame.
In reality, the situation can be completely different.
A real example: ticketed at the scene, then the result flipped
In one case, a car attempting a left turn just as the light turned yellow collided with an oncoming car going straight. At the scene, police found the left-turning driver at fault and even issued a ticket. Looking only at that, anyone would conclude the left-turning car was in the wrong.
But the outcome was different. The left-turning car had already entered the intersection first, and the oncoming car was in a position where it should have slowed down. Once the flow and timing of the accident were examined, it was not simply a case of left turn equals fault. That analysis overturned the result, and the client was able to recover compensation.
The first judgment is not the final result
Many people reach their own verdict based on what the police decided, what the other driver claims, or their own gut feeling. But a traffic accident has to be read as a whole — the point of entry, the speed, the position, the circumstances, all of it together.
That is why we say: even 'my fault' can win.
Check before you give up
In Las Vegas, many people lose their chance simply because they assume they were in the wrong. A left-turn accident, a murky fault situation, even a ticket already in hand — it is worth checking before you walk away. More cases than you would expect end with a different result.
